Strings for Kids in the Greenfield Public Schools

STRINGS FOR KIDS PROGRAM WILL BEGIN THIRD YEAR IN GREENFIELD

The Strings for Kids program, free, weekly violin, viola or cello lessons for third, fourth and 5th graders in the Greenfield Public Schools, will begin at Newton, Four Corners and Federal Street Elementary Schools and the Greenfield Middle School in September.   We expect 110 students to be involved with the program and a budget of $64,000!  Instruction on violin, viola and cello will be offered.  Artspace provides the instruments to students for an annual fee of $25.00.

If you have a child at one of these schools and you have not registered yet for the program,  call the Artspace office for information and to register.

“Artspace continues to seek funds to support this program,” states Artspace Executive Director, Mary Kay Hoffman.   “The SFK budget for 2010-11 is expected to be $64,000.  Several generous individuals have committed to sponsoring a student for a year by making a donation to cover the cost of the instrument  and weekly group lessons.   We are very grateful.”

Artspace is seeking donations of instruments - 1/4 to full size - violins, violas and cellos.  If you have an instrument that you would like to donate, call the office - 413- 772-6811.
