Office Hours:  Sept. – May, Mon.- Fri. 1-6 p.m.  The office is closed during February and April school vacations, and the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.   Summer Hours: June-Aug., Mon.-Fri.  9–1p.m.

 

SCHOOL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Registration
    Students of all ages, beginners to advanced, are accepted throughout the year for private music lessons.  The school year is divided into two 16-week semesters, plus a shorter summer term.  Tuition is prorated for those who begin after the term has started.

5 Easy Ways to Register

1.  Stop by the office, 15 Mill Street, Greenfield and register in person.  Our office hours are Mon.- Fri. 1 to 6 during the school year.  The office is closed during February and April school vacations, and the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

2.  Download the form, print out and complete the registration form and mail it with your payment to Artspace, 15 Mill Street, Greenfield MA 01301.

3.  Phone us at 413-772-6811 to register by phone and pay with your Visa or MasterCard.

4.  Download the form, print out and complete the registration form and fax it with your credit card information to 413-772-6800.

5.  REGISTER ONLINE! Pay securely with your credit card.

Refund and Withdrawal Policies
    If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund, including registration fee, will be made.  If the student withdraws before the 4th week of the semester, the refund will be prorated, minus the registration fee.    Students withdrawing after the 4th week of the semester are financially responsible for the full semester fee.  Artspace reserves the right to cancel a class or ensemble due to insufficient enrollment and to discontinue lessons and classes for any students who fall behind in payment.

Absences
    If a music student has an excused absence from a lesson (24 hours notice to teacher), the lesson will be made up by the teacher.  Lessons and classes missed due to teacher absence or snow days will be made up. Students are financially responsible for unexcused absences.

Snow Days
    Lessons and classes may be canceled due to snow and ice.  Call the office to find out if lessons and classes are canceled at 413-772-6811.  If the Greenfield public schools are closed due to weather, Artspace is closed.

Photo/Video Policy
    Artspace regularly photographs and videotapes classes and lessons to document our programs and to use for marketing and grant proposals.  If you do not want your child or yourself to be photographed or videotaped, please inform the office at 413-772-6811.

Discounts
    Artspace donors at the $50 level or higher will receive a 5% discounts on classes listed in this catalog.

Registration Fee
    Registration fees are for the entire school year.  An annual nonrefundable registration fee is charged per student:  $20 for the first member of each family,  $15 for the second member and $5 for each additional member.  No registration fee is required for one-time workshops.

Payment Plans

Option I:  Full payment for the semester is due at the time of registration.

Option II:  Half of the semester tuition is due at registration, the other half at the 8th week of the semester.  There is a service charge of $10 for this payment option.

Option III:  One quarter of the tuition is due at registration.  The balance is due in 3 equal payments on October 15, November 15 and December 15.  There is a $15 service charge for this payment plan.

Returned Checks
    There is a $15 charge for checks returned to us by the bank.

Financial Aid
    A number of partial scholarships are available for private lessons and classes.  If you feel the tuition is more than you can afford, please submit a financial aid application.  They are available at Artspace or by calling the office, 413-772-6811 or on line.
    Financial Aid applications must be received by September 15 for the fall term and January 15 for the spring term. Please note that financial aid awards are decided before each term begins and are credited to the final tuition payment of the term.
    Please Note: In order to reserve a lesson time or place in an ensemble or class, financial aid applicants must submit their registration with an initial deposit of $35.
